The best hotels for kids in Thailand

If the idea of travelling long haul with children puts you off planning any faraway trips, you should experience Thailand as a family. While the journey can be quite a stretch with kids, once you arrive at your destination, it will soon become clear that you’ve made the right choice.

With the warmest of welcomes, incredible food and drink, unforgettable beaches and a huge range of activities for all the family, a fortnight in Thailand may not actually feel long enough.

But to help you plan your journey, we compile a list of the best hotels in Thailand for kids. These family hotels cover the whole of Thailand including the mainland, as well as all the beautiful islands dotted around the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand.

Bangkok

Bangkok

For many, Bangkok is the first port of call when you arrive in Thailand. We recommend you get a well-deserved rest in the city when you land. This will not only give you the opportunity to catch up on sleep, but you’ll also be able to explore this amazing city.

A family favourite in the capital is the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel which has family rooms and suites that come equipped with mini bathrobes and toiletries as well as bedtime milk and cookies.

During the day, little ones can be kept entertained in the mini playground, and enjoy nine different dining venues, all with specially planned children’s menus.

Koh Samui

KohSamui

The Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui provides everything you need for you and your family during your stay on the island. The hotel is comprised of luxury hillside villas, surrounded by coconut palms as well as jackfruit, mango and durian fruit orchards.

Get involved in the family cooking lessons, the children’s spa, fishing and muay Thai classes for kids that help them develop balance, strength and flexibility.

And while the adults treat themselves to a spa treatment, movie night under the stars or a cruise around the bay, children are well looked after at the Kids’ Club where they learn sand castle-building techniques, traditional Thai craft making and play beach games.

Phuket

Phuket JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is a brilliant family hotel for kids. This is a fifteen minute taxi ride from the hotel, so very easy to get to when you land on the island.

Inside are family rooms which look out onto the ocean, and there is a large kids’ pool with a bubble area, waterslide and other features. The kids’ club is great for children over four years’ old, and they can chill out in the main room with TV, books and toys, as well as a mini cinema where the kids can pick what to watch. There’s also a daily programme of activities, from nail painting to baking cookies.

You also have access to Mai Khao beach which is a beautiful place to while away a few hours. There are quiet areas close to the shoreline, but there are also free and paid watersports available for anyone who wants to try out windsurfing or snorkelling.

Krabi

Krabi

Stunning landscapes and hideaway beaches aside, one of the best child-friendly hotels in Krabi is the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort, with the largest swimming pool in Thailand, enormous rooms, free breakfasts, and a free kids’ club.

Children attending the kids’ club also get a free lunch. There are different activities throughout the week, and children can go between indoor and outdoor play areas. In the evening, as things wind down, children can relax on cushions and enjoy a movie before bedtime.

If you’re considering a Thailand holiday with your family, we can create a schedule to suit your needs which will allow you to see the best of this incredible country. Check out our competitive Thailand holiday deals today!
