Is Dubai Family Friendly

When people go on holiday, the things they do depend on who they’re with. Dubai has become a popular place in recent years for couples because of the romantic setting and the indulgent lifestyle associated with it. Some people might not think that Dubai is family friendly because of it's reputation for excess, however there are an abundance of activities for a family to enjoy while on their holiday and below you will find examples of great things to do with your family.

One of the most important things to be aware of is the differences between the UK and the United Arab Emirates. For instance, you can only buy alcohol at hotels and clubs and only if you’re over 21 years old. Electronic cigarettes are illegal and will likely be confiscated at the border. Another important thing to consider is that most places in the UAE have a dress code. Gov.uk tells us that “women should dress modestly when in public areas like shopping malls”. They say that “clothes should cover the tops of the arms and legs, and underwear should not be visible.” Its important to read up on the guidelines of the UAE before visiting, to make sure that you don’t incur any penalties while you’re on holiday and you can focus on enjoying your time abroad with your family.

A Family Enjoying Dubai

Now on to the fun things. There are plenty of theme parks, water parks and experiences for you to enjoy as a family. If you’re looking for a water-filled adventure, you might want to take a look at Aquaventure. This massive water park is situated near the famous Atlantis, the Palm hotel and is full of fun things that will appeal to every member of the family. There’s exciting rides for the thrill seekers, river rides both rapid and calm, a shark safari, private relaxing beaches and more. However you like to spend your holiday, you will find something that takes your fancy.

If you’re staying in Dubai, then you may think that you will be limited to spending your time on the beach and staying in the heat all the time. However, if you fancy a change of scenery you may want to check out Ski Dubai. This is a huge indoor ski slope located in one of the hottest places in the world, and it gives you the full ‘ski holiday’ experience in your visit. There’s slopes with different difficulty, shops and restaurants, and even a chance to meet some penguins. This is the perfect place to take the family and it gives you the chance to experience two types of holidays in one visit.

Above are just a couple of examples showcasing the types of activities that a family can enjoy together in Dubai. There is a huge range of things to do in Dubai, and hopefully we’ve put to rest some of the worries behind the question “is Dubai family friendly?”.
