The 5 Best Shopping Hot Spots In Dubai

Shopping Malls in Dubai are massive complexes with a huge range of activities. There are hundreds of stores, restaurants, themed attractions and hotels near these shopping malls for you to stay in. You could probably spend your whole holiday in just one of these malls, exploring everything there is to do, and you would still find that there were some things that you hadn’t done. Here is a selection of the 5 best shopping hot spots in Dubai:

The Wafi Mall

The Dubai Mall is a prime example of the multitude of things you can do in a Dubai shopping complex. The mall has a 440,000 sq ft Fashion Avenue, which is the largest collection of fashion brands under one roof. The Dubai Mall also features cuisine from all over the world, with over 150 kinds of dining outlets, with some offering views of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. There are also multiple entertainment options on offer. There is an ice rink, cinemas and SEGA Republic, an indoor theme park based on some of the gaming company’s biggest franchises.

The Mall of the Emirates is currently home to more than 560 brands, including the best names in fashion, sports, electronics and home furnishing. The Mall also features leisure facilities including Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East and a 14 screen cinema and the mall is also home to many different styles of restaurants.

The Dubai Marina Mall offers visitors more than 130 outlets across four levels, overlooking the beautiful Dubai Marina. It features a mix of high street fashion, designer brands and fine-dining experiences.

City Centre Deira is a place geared towards ‘serious shoppers’. With over 370 choices, it offers a variety of brands from fashion, cosmetics, toy stores and electronics which will leave spoilt for choice. City Centre Deira also features a massive cinema complex, and Magic Planet, which is full of rides and games with something for the whole family to enjoy.

Mercato Shopping Mall is situated in Jumeirah in Dubai and is styled around Italian architecture, creating a relaxing environment taking you back to the Renaissance while you shop. Mercato offers nearly 150 shopping outlets, with a variety of brands that will appeal to residents and tourists from around the world. As well as the shops, there is a cinema on site and family entertainment with ‘Fun City’ offering games, rides and custom built play units which help to develop a child’s motor skills.

Is Dubai Family Friendly

One of the most important things to be aware of is the differences between the UK and the United Arab Emirates. For instance, you can only buy alcohol at hotels and clubs and only if you’re over 21 years old. Electronic cigarettes are illegal and will likely be confiscated at the border. Another important thing to consider is that most places in the UAE have a dress code. Gov.uk tells us that “women should dress modestly when in public areas like shopping malls”. They say that “clothes should cover the tops of the arms and legs, and underwear should not be visible.” Its important to read up on the guidelines of the UAE before visiting, to make sure that you don’t incur any penalties while you’re on holiday and you can focus on enjoying your time abroad with your family.
