The staff were so friendly and helpful! They took such great care of us and made sure that we had an amazing vacation. There are no elevators, so make sure your room accommodation is appropriate for you and your physical needs. The various themed restaurants were decent, but we preferred the buffet and ate most of our meals there. The buffet options changed fairly regularly and we didn't ever get tired of what was available. The night time singers and karaoke were fun! The beach was beautiful! I would definutely recommend this resort!

I read reviews 1 night before my trip and had so much anxiety about the negative reviews. Minus a bit of updating of some of the rooms and a need for more vegan options, this place is a great overall value. We paid for the preferred package and really enjoyed our stay. Staff goes above and beyond and are delightful to work with. Weather was perfect late November. They have amazing entertainment for the family too.

Straight up, NOT a 4- star. This resort is being torn down soon, an maintenance seems low priority. The first room we were assigned, was a disgrace. Felt like a slap in the face for the money we paid. Very disrespectful. After one night I had to demand a different room. I would not have reserved the resort knowing it was on the way to being flattened. The employees always had a smile. I would recommend going to a different resort, and not be disappointed. And I like it better, when all-inclusive means “ no expectations to tip”. Unfortunately, that was the only way to get drinks, was to tip. Room service was 0/4 in getting the order correct. I’ve been to 4-5 other all- inclusive resorts, and this is easily the most disappointing. Too far to travel to find too many issues.

We were a family of ten and this resort met our needs perfectly . I as the Grandmother, my two sons and their families were happy with the food, service, cleanliness and beautiful grounds. Staff was great. It is too bad the ocean is plagued with the seaweed problem but the hotel is doing its best to keep it clean. The bathrooms need updating. Overall a wonderful resort for our family.

The staff here was so helpful and friendly. We had the best time! We would go back again and again if we could. The food was excellent and you did not need to make reservations which we found to be a huge bonus! Eat what you want when you want. Burgers on the beach were fantastic. Ambiorix at the pool was our favorite, but honestly they were all great.

Definitely worth it! The facilities are beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. The food options were very good as well. My wife, two kids and I enjoyed all of the meals. We have dined in many hotels in the Dominican Republic and this hotel's food quality was really good! Trust me on this one because we are very picky especially when it comes to food quality. We spent some time on the beach and it was a beautiful day and the water was stunning. I truly dont have a single complaint about this resort. Maybe I visited while everything was just running very smoothly because everything just seemed flawless. Whether you come for a vacation or even a day pass it is worth every dollar.

Recently stayed at the resort for our vacation. The location of the resort is just perfect with beautiful access to the beach. Upon check in to the hotel, we were told that our rooms were not available due to the resort being full (despite having reserved the rooms beforehand). We were checked in at the very back of the resort with plenty of walking distance to the beach and all the amenities. Our rooms were only available two days after our check in, after speaking with the resort management, we got our rooms the next day. Also, at check in we were pushed on purchasing the "preferred membership" for additional funds (having paid a decent amount for the vacation itself). The "preferred membership" provided an extra restaurant and better spot on the beach. The services at the restaurants and the buffet was relatively slow. At one point we had to wait for an hour in a restaurant to receive our main course after the appetizers. Bars were decent, the bartenders were great. Overall, location is great, service was poor.

TRAVELERS BEWARE!! They claim to be a safe and family resort. But it is not at all. They stick families with kids in a different part of the hotel away from everyone and the beach. You have to walk or wait for a golf cart to pick you up. If you walk around the resort, people always try to sell you things and ask for money. People who sell items also ask if you want drugs, The resort fails to make it as safe especially when kids are around. The food is under par and you will have stomach issues. When booking the hotel, we paid as a premium member, but our room was a hole in the wall. We asked to transfer room, but they said that we would have to pay more if you want to change a room. We paid $3000 for our original room for a week stay. Everything Is average or below average at this hotel. Yes, it states it inclusive, but they don’t want to give you the premium drinks or give you good service. This is a hotel that I would never want to be a part of And it doesn’t make me want to visit their other branches they have. Hope I can help anyone deciding to visit this hotel.

Spent a week here recently. The overarching theme I can think of is inconsistent. We didn’t get the second floor room we requested. Had to sort that out upon arrival. It’s not something you want to deal with after a long day of travel. We got the second story room but it was dirty and subpar. There was a French fry on the floor when we moved in. The fridge was leaking and barely cold and plugged into an electrical outlet just laying on the floor. We called about the fridge but someone didn’t show up for three days and only after we were in a different room. What? Luckily a member of our group was assigned a “butler” because of the package they booked. She mentioned our situation to him and got us another room which was really nice. Erik you are the man! We were assigned a “butler” because the room we ended up with was a Preferred status room. But I feel like if we didn’t ask about it it wouldn’t have happened. And it seemed like on some things that should’ve been provided if we didn’t ask about it we probably wouldn’t have got it. We met our butler when we moved rooms but never saw him again. The resort itself is one long narrow boulevard with buildings on either side and the beach wasn’t very wide. You couldn’t take a walk a long walk on it or anything. It the beach was very nice. The cleaning service was inconsistent. Sometimes we’d get turn down service, sometimes not. Sometimes they called us to see what we needed, sometimes not. Sometimes we got everything replenished when they cleaned the room, sometimes not. The food was just good. Wasn’t impressed with any of the food. It was pretty bland. My wife and I went to the Italian restaurant on our last night and it was not good at all. The drinks were also inconsistent. The same drink made by one bartender could be very different when made by another bartender. Tipping is essential if you want great service. You’re bothered a lot by resort staff trying to sell you various activity packages. Also, they bring in souvenir vendors who set up in an area you have to walk through to get to the beach or restaurants. They can be aggressive. Also they were asking us to get them alcohol. Really? My wife and I got a couples massage which was nice. However, there was very loud dance music blaring right outside the entire time. And there is smoking allowed. More than once we ended up beside someone on the beach smoking. Some of the staff were very outgoing and friendly and some were not. Overall I enjoyed myself but probably would not go back.

Dreams Onyx is a beautiful resort. The beach is really nice. It is sandy with no rocks and almost no seaweed. The food is very good. There is a lot of choice in the a la carte restaurants and the buffet had hot food that was replenished regularly. We had a butler, Alvaro in the preferred club. He made our trip so enjoyable. We never had to wait for a table at dinnertime. He booked us a table and made sure to meet us there each night to ensure we got in with no problems. If you decided to book the preferred club, I highly recommend asking for Alvaro. He really cares about his clients having a wonderful vacation. The rooms were very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I can't wait to return for my next beach vacation!

Great resort! I have only nice words to say overall. This was our second stay and it felt like home. Lots of food options and very clean. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. If you want to spice up your stay with the best cocktails, go to The Mix, the upper bar at the water park. Felix & Moises are fun and will help you find the right flavor for the day in no time.

My husband and i stayed at this resort for a week long and thoroughly enjoyed the weather, our room and the service! Our personal experience with the service was amazing the workers were super fun and caring. They are pretty attentive and personal, we became friends with one of the workers who goes by the name MAMBO69! He made our experience super enjoyable and remembered our faces after meeting him on the first night! We showed kindness to him and he showed it back all week long! He always made sure we were taken care of and checked in on us constantly! Thank you Mambo 69 for making our trip fun! Overall a beautiful resort and a great experience!

This hotel was fantastic but I have to say the staff was absolutely amazing especially Randy who worked at the beach bar/waiter. For our first 3 days there and spending time on the beautiful beach Randy was there to greet us with a big smile and his customer service goes beyond anything I have experienced at a resort. He was always happy, engaging in conversation and always ensured we were taken care of. As we told Randy, we loved him and he was definitely number 1 Randy! Onyx is blessed to have him there! Thank you Randy for everything you did for us.

Great resort, lots of activities offered. Loved the lazy river. Loved our swim up right off the main pool. Beach was gorgeous and water mostly rough. Food and drinks were good, our favourite drinks were Sweet Devil Purple Rain and Caribbean breeze. Best food at the Breathless Steakhouse and the preferred restaurant for breakfast and lunch.

First off my reviews are me comparing to other resorts visited. It's day 2 here so my review is an early first impression. We booked in Exhale Club, i have yet to see the differences. Comfy bed, outdated, for a Hyatt resort. No drawers for your clothes, just a closet. Very noisy, you can hear everyone in the hallways!! The location is about an hour, shared drive, from the airport. We will definitely look for a resort closer next time. The beach is definitely 'breathless' ;) No need to save loungers, there are plenty. Drinks are good, top-shelf selections. The food is good, and many restaurants to choose from so you won't be hungry!! Service is very slow, but it's good to walk for your drinks, keeps your intake under control!! lol Will give final rating at the end of the trip.

Had the absolute best experience! Would come back again in a heartbeat. Shows were incredible! Rooms were immaculate. Vianny was our server on the beach and was amazing! Everyday her service was top notch! She helped make our experience one of the best I’ve had. Zip lining and monkey land were well worth the money! Such a great time! Thank you for an incredible week! Highly recommend!

First I would like to say the rooms in the hotel and the grounds deserve 10 starts. Unfortunately that’s when things spiral down. If you like laying down by the pool, you need to get down by the poolside by 7am and put a towel on your pool chair, otherwise you will not get a seat for the whole day as whether you’re using it or not, simply putting a towel on it makes it ‘yours’ for the whole day. The ironic part is the towel shed doesn’t open until 8:30, so I strongly suggest taking towels to your room the day before or you probably won’t get a chair all day as there is limited seating. I was looking forward to using the private terrace Hottub on our balcony, but unfortunately ours didn’t work. We were told by our ‘ butler’ , yes butler , that it would be fixed right away, but that never happened. The overall dining experiences were very pleasurable, but last night at the steakhouse restaurant called ‘The Strip ‘ was the absolute worse experience. Without going into detail here, I left a full review of it , just google the actual restaurant name to see my full detailed review. Unless you like to drink a lot,which we don’t , and hit or miss at the restaurant’s, My wife and I would not come back again and prefer to pay our way for better dining experiences as well as paying for our own drinks. Lastly, when you check in, they don’t give you any welcome package unless you ask for 1, but even if you do, it’s only a map of the resort. Bottom line, it’s a beautiful resort with the majority of the staff being extremely friendly, but the few negatives left enough impressions that we would return. I’m writing this review the morning of the day before we check out and I’m hoping it’s a great experience for us here on our last full day

This Breathless resort and the staff here are absolutely outstanding! There's lots of daily activities to choose from, and we had access to Dreams (the neighboring resort). The food options and super nice and friendly staff made this 1 week stay a trip to remember! Big shout out to the entertainment team! Those guys and gals are the incredible! I will DEFINITELY be back!!!

Great experience, very nice hotel! We stayed 5 nights, great service, very clean, safe, and luxurious. There were plenty of restaurants to eat, and the all inclusive buffet was great and lots of varieties of food. All the rooms had a jacuzzi tub on the balcony, which we never used. The one pool in the middle of the resort had lots of entertainment, a DJ, full bar, and every day it seems to have different events. Great atmosphere! People dancing, drinking and having a good time! I would definitely stay there again!!!

Wonderful resort; excellent accommodations; beautiful pools and beach; excellent choice of food for all meals; will definitely return in the future. The staff were all wonderful, polite and helpful and always someone around whenever assistance was needed. My only complaint was there was not an adequate number of shelters at the beach and pool if one does not want to sit in the sun. Many more shelters are required. We had to get up at 6.00 am to go to the beach or pool to reserve loungers in the shade, a 15 minute trek there and back. Also, for anyone not too good on their feet, a stretch of accessible sand matting to the beach/water would be helpful to get down to the water. On my last day, I had a fall when I missed a step and was immediately assisted with ice packs and assistance getting up. Was provided with a wheelchair and taken to the medical area. Luckily other than a few bruises I was not hurt. As my husband is over 80 and cannot walk long distances, the distance to the restaurant, pools and beach as well as to the front areas of the resort was somewhat restrictive. We were on the 3rd floor, but there were elevators we could use to access the floor. We had no problems with noise on the floor and saw few children except at the pool. The loungers were not very comfortable as they were totally flat except for the head section but one can get as many huge towels as needed to make them more comfortable. More adjustable loungers would have been appreciated for our older bodies. Anyone not satisfied with this resort must be very picky. Everything was clean and well maintained. I definitely would recommend this resort. We were also able to access all the amenities of Secrets Royal Punta Cana next door if we had wanted to.

BEST GIRLS' TRIP EVER Traveled with 4 other girlfriends to celebrate turning 70. Could not have had a more perfect time. Stayed in Preferred Club Swim Up Suites. Highly recommend the extra price for Preferred Club accommodations, well worth it. Huge shout out to our butler Emanuel. He was amazing, friendly, super organized and made us feel like his only clients even he had 15 other clients. Also high praise for our beach "high rise" cabana host, Juan David. We were treated like royalty. The service, staff, grounds, food, restaurants, entertainment all deserve 10 stars. Absolutely amazing resort - - - gave us some wonderful memories - - I'm sure we gave some a few memories ourselves !!!! Thanks to all

Just got back from our 7 day vacation. Loved the resort, so beautiful! Our butler Billy was phenomenal! The beach & pools were great. Drinks, so yummy. Lots of food choices. Buffet items could have been warmer. Every single staff member was just the best, always helpful, smiling. Glad we were part of the “family” for a week👏🥰

The staff here are incredible for the most part, some get a little short with you bit they work long days with little time off. It's nice that they change up the buffet so it's not always the same. Food is good and good variety. The only minor issue I had was the vendors constantly selling stuff. Seems like every 10 - 15 minutes someone is selling cigars, hats, handbags, massage, bracelets etc. They keep coming over and over

Had so much fun at this resort! The entertainment was amazing and the workers were so friendly. Angel, Mr Wonderful, and Tony were amazing and helped us in having a blast. The bar tender Robert was very good and always made the drinks delicious. Would definitely recommend!!

Just spent 4 nights there and it was a great experience, starting with the staff. It was our second stay at a Secrets, having previously stayed at the Secrets Riviera south of Cancun. The staff was absolutely wonderful. With really no exceptions, everyone we encountered was very kind and patient and helpful, and as a result the whole vibe was very relaxed and casual. The Preferred upgrade wasn't especially exclusive, but it was worth it for access to the large restaurant next to the main pool and the separate beach areas. The drinks were generally better, too. The beach and the grounds are beautiful. The food was pretty good - a couple of dinners were just fine and a couple were excellent. Honestly, our go-to food option a few times a day were the burgers, fries, nachos and salads at the Barefoot Grill for lunch on the beach. The atmosphere felt lively without ever feeling crowded. Getting a table for dinner between 7 - 8 was a challenge, but we just had a late lunch and were fine. You also have to get to the beach or the pool fairly early to reserve a chair in a good spot, but they open up as the day goes on. All-in-all, I'd give it a 9/10, with a point off for food. If I were booking a trip to Punta Cana again I would 100% go back.

Had a wonderful short Easter holiday vacation to Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. Stayed in club king room. Check in was quick using the club level check in. Nightly entertainment was fun. Food was good. Weather was great. Beach was nice white sand, unfortunately there was a bit of seafood/sargassum that we had to deal with. Seemed to have a lack of beach service. Would definitely come back here.

The resort is beautiful and spacious. The beach is gorgeous! The service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Caesar and Riccardo helped our large group get checked in with ease. Our butler Luis gave us a tour of the resort. He made sure we all knew how to contact him at any time, and checked in every morning and evening to make sure we had everything we needed. The service at the pool was great as well..shout outs to Antonio and Rosa!! The only flaw was the food there was not quite as good as other secrets resorts. Overall it exceeded my expectations!

We had a group of 19 total join us for our wedding celebration at Secrets Royal Beach. We unanimously agree that this was a fantastic resort - great food, beautiful pools and beaches, and exceptional service. My husband and I worked with Danilka to plan the perfect wedding day. We could not say more good things about her; she is incredibly sweet, accommodating, and thorough. We were so glad to have her in charge of coordinating the most important day of our lives. Every detail was perfect because of her! At our reception, the staff providing food and bar service were extremely attentive and fun. We also had Maria as our liaison who assisted in making sure our wedding day went off without a hitch - from transporting wedding items, to planning a special surprise on our wedding night, she was amazing. Highly recommend this resort!!!!

Our stay here was too short, our room was gorgeous as well as the resort! Loved that we had our own pool! The staff were friendly and attentive... The Secrets Resorts are very nice, and clean just maybe in a different location. If I'm being honest.... Punta Cana is a one & done for me, I'm sorry to admit that I didn't feel all that safe there and we didn't even leave the resort... It was a Mr. Steal your girl vibes...

Incredible time had by both myself and my wife. I fell in love with the resort all of its natural beauty the incredible pool and especially the exceptional service by all staff. The vibes crew had an energy that was so infectious that you could not help but get up and dance with them. The night entertainment was amazing The food was perfect and plentiful. The variety of local dishes and comfort food was well balanced The cocoa bean cafe was one of our favorite spots. The staff everywhere were friendly and prompt. We had a small issue with our room the first night and we were immediately moved to another room. I could go on all day about it. It was every seminal vacation experience you expect and then some. Flawless absolutely flawless. The beach and pool had more than enough seating. The beach was clean no seaweed at all. I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. They are closing for renovations but when they reopen i will be back for sure. Any specific questions just ask.

We just returned from a week away at this resort. We went as a large group for a wedding the week of the resort closing. The staff were incredible, they were extremely friendly, quick to help and loved to entertain our 6mo baby. The food was good, many of the restaurants were closed and we had to stick to the buffet, Italian and Japanese restaurants, all options were good, not spectacular but an option for everyone to eat for sure! The pool was incredible, clean, lots of chairs and shade. The beach was beautiful, the swimming section was small but for the safety of travellers. We were approached a few times by vendors but a firm no thank you did the trick. The rooms were outdated but extremely clean. Overall, this resort was incredible, we hope that they don’t change much in their renovations and that the old staff are hired back. Travelling with a baby can be tricky and this place made it wonderful!

The resort grounds are beautiful with mature palms everywhere and beautiful landscaping. The rooms are a little dated, but thats not a big deal. The food in the restaurants was mediocre. The seaside grill was the best in my opinion. The snack bars were pretty good as well. The pool is very large and clean although only 3 ft deep. I wish there was a bigger swimming area on the beach. Most of the employees were very friendly. I would definitely go back.

I was at this resort with my wife and friends last week. It is a beautiful resort looks like a paradise, nice beach and family friendly pool. The staff is fantastic, attentive,very friendly and helpful. Great Entertainments. Buffet has a huge selection of food and freshly made. All the restaurants inside the resort is nice and the service is good. Rooms and the washrooms are but dated and need to be upgraded. Overall it's a great resort for vacationing.

A hidden gem! It was virtually empty during my stay so the peace was refreshing. The food was amazing, the service was even better. Amazing beach. The rooms are outdated but the experience makes up for the lack of shine. 10/10 overall, I would return.
