My wife and myself had a great time staying at Anantara. The hotel is gorgeous, contemporary, serene, and well located—you can walk to anywhere on the hotel.
The front desk employees need to step up their game. We emailed them ahead of time to request a baby crib and steriliser, and when we arrived, we had to wait a good few hours for these to be delivered to your room. After arriving, we waited more than thirty minutes to check into our accommodation. My spouse sent an email to the hotel on my birthday asking them to arrange a special day for us, but even after receiving confirmation via email that they would arrange something, nothing changed. It appears that the front desk is just not acting with enough urgency.
The food and beverage team provided excellent service. They were all really pleasant and friendly.
After a week, the breakfast buffets were almost identical.
Overall it was a memorable and relaxing holiday.

An absolute amazing resort less than 10 minutes from the airport.
Really welcoming and caring staff that go above and beyond to make sure they can help you with everything.
Breakfast,Room Service food, Dinner and bar was amazing.
Stayed at the beach deluxe ocean view first floor.
Every single part of the hotel is spot on details, just the ones that can’t be chased at all times which is completely fine. ( little nature animals, nothing to be afraid of ).
Gym facilities and spa available on site. Very organized as from my visit.
In general a great stay and would highly recommend it.
Some pictures are also from the 4 bedroom villa that can sleep up to 10 or 12 people ( when more beds added). Really spacious and with connection to the reception with easy access, private pool. For more info about the villa contact the resort. This is more than service you’d expect to get in Mauritius.

I recently stayed at Anantara Resort, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory due to a series of service-related issues. The most glaring problem was the slowness of service; it seemed as though the staff treated everything with a lackadaisical attitude. Several times, room service orders were either forgotten or delayed.
Similarly, housekeeping standards were subpar; cleaning seemed to be treated as optional, requiring multiple follow-ups before our room was finally attended to.
Additionally, the condition of the room was concerning. One of the strips fell off the wall, and the safe lock was not functioning, which compromised the security of our valuables. Furthermore, a serious issue arose when I discovered cash had been stolen from my room. When I reported this to the resort management, their response was lackluster and careless, further adding to my frustration. It felt as if such concerns were not taken seriously, which is alarming given the nature of the issue.
The only bright spot in this experience was Zahra, a staff member who went out of her way to improve our stay. Her efforts, however, were overshadowed by the systemic problems that seem ingrained within the resort's operations. While her dedication was commendable, it was clear that one person alone cannot compensate for widespread organizational deficiencies. Overall, my experience at Anantara Resort was deeply disappointing, and it's difficult to recommend it to others given the issues I encountered.

Not sure where all these people are coming up with the bad reviews. We stayed 5 days at Anantara Iko and this was one of the best hotels we have stayed at all over the world. We have travelled to 45+ countries and this hotel was very amazing. Of course like everywhere, there are cons, but the pros out weight the cons and just because of a few cons, doesn’t mean they should lose a star in their review.
Hotel room : hotel rooms are very beautiful, amazing decor and bed, shower, bath, balcony area and all. The housekeeping always respected our do not disturb sign, and whenever we wanted them to clean, we had everything cleaned perfectly, with new linens and towels.
Food : we ate at the main buffet for breakfast and dinner, we also ate at Sea Fire Salt and Zafran. Each of those restaurants had incredible food, and amazing service. I believe the “dress code” that everyone complaining at doesn’t apply anymore, my husband wore sandals and short sleeve shirts to dinner and nobody has mentioned anything.
Beach and pool : Beach was amazing. The water is very clear, very private feeling beach. The sand was nice, I recommend to go snorkeling too. There was always beach seats available and they would always put umbrella for us whenever we asked. There was an area to rinse sand off feet near the pool. The pool was very beautiful with great views of the ocean. Have no complaints for the beach and pool.
Spa : we had couples massage and they took great care of us. Let us use the steam room after the massage for half and hour even though that wasn’t included in our massage package. We were also given a tea infusion after the massage. We did the Mauritian couples massage and it was perfect, felt amazing.
Service over all : Staff was very friendly, always helpful with anything we needed. All staff was kind and respectful, had not encountered a single person with the staffs “unfriendliness “ that other reviews are stating.
Excursions : we did a snorkel boat tour as well and it was amazing. We got to see amazing fish and coral reefs at the Blue Bay conservation area. We also did tea tasting which was really nice to try local and different styles of tea.
Location : great location, much more private area than other parts of Mauritius. Close to the airport but it’s not bothersome, we liked how we landed at the airport, drove 10 mins, and arrived at hotel. I loved how there was no big city area with a lot of shops, it was more secluded and that’s exactly what I like. The location was very quiet too, no loud music or anything. Just lots of nature and bird sounds which was so amazing to hear. Also wanted to mention, that If you have a car, there is a waterfall called “Eau Bleau Cascades” that is 20 mins from the resort and the waterfall was amazing, I posted a picture of it. It’s a short steep walk down, takes 3 mins, and it was amazing to swim in!
A few cons that I had during the trip was, 1. We tried making reservations to restaurant, we wanted to go at 6, they reserved us the restaurant at 6 but the restaurant only opened at 7, this was fixable and not that big of an issue. 2. Yes, there were flies everywhere in the outdoor seating area, but what do you expect when you are eating outside. We had staff bring us a spinning thing to keep them away.

We had a great stay at Anantara.
We love that the hotel has an 100m set back from the beach, making it very natural and enhancing the wild aspect of the South Coast.
The pool overlooking the big waves and the dark rocks is just amazing. The second pool (heated) is a great added value, it's kid friendly, not windy and has a good vibe with it's in the water bar and kids areas all around.
The cocktails are DELICIOUS (try the signature cocktails). The cardamom mule at Sea Fire Salt restaurant was my favorite but they are all very good. The mocktails are a little too sweet though.
The food is good and I would advise to eat at the à la carte restaurants and not at the buffet. The pastries at the breakfast are delicious and the desert also surprisingly good compare to other 5 stars.
The staff is friendly and you see that the hotel management is looking at the client's experience.
We loved it and we will be back. This hotel is really different that the other resorts on the Island and you should visit it during your stay.
We had live music on Friday and Saturday. Only girls live bands, well-done!
We will be back, thank you Anantara team.
