Loved our stay! The location is great, a comfortable walk to cool places like Chinatown, art galleries, cafes etc. Cable cars can be picked up a few streets away. Close to Powell Street BART station for getting to/from the airport.
Staff at The Marker were very friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome.
Rooms are comfortably-sized, well-furnished, with tasteful decor and fun colours. I think the bed headboard shape was inspired by cable car arm rests too? Very cool. We liked the sliding door to the bathroom, and the shower: surprisingly powerful and easy to use.
The building itself also includes generous spaces on the ground floor, including comfy chairs near fireplaces, sofas, and tables/chairs in their big windows.
Thank you also for providing tea/coffee in the morning, and reusable bottles with water refilling stations in the building. That's a good nudge towards more sustainable re-use practices.
We would absolutely stay again :)

This hotel was awesome. Convenient location and clean. Has a fitness center, thank goodness! Daniel was super helpful. Helped us get checked in nice and easy. His great spirit was very contagious after such a long flight it was very refreshing to come to him at the front desk. I'd come back in a heart beat

Clean. Good common spaces to work/study/relax. Sufficiently good fitness center even if not comprehensive. Polite and accessible service from staff. Well priced. Accessible location. It’s true that the surrounding area isn’t exactly in the best shape right now, and the hotel/furnishings aren’t exactly the newest, but the staff do a good job of maintaining the rooms and amenities. Great value for a 4-star hotel

What an awesome stay we had in San Francisco at The Marker. We came for our honeymoon and were so happy we chose this hotel. When we came in they offered us champagne, but we don't drink so they gave us gourmet kettle corn which was so good! I found that the evening staff was very helpful and made great conversation. Nessa at the front desk gets a 10/10! She gave us a run-down on how to navigate the busses and how to get to China and Japan Town. The rooms were very well put together and clean. It can get noisy when people use the plumbing but it doesn't take away from the relaxation the room provides. The lobby and reading room are so relaxing! And the fireplace is cozy and inviting. It can get a little hectic in front of the hotel at night time but that comes with the territory. We didn't have any problems when out front. Definitely worth the stay! We will be back😁

We spend just one night in the hotel.loved the beds and the fact that they actually used non plastic bottles, bio natural hygiene products such as shower gel, shampoo, soap, lotion and conditioner. The fresh and herbal smell was very unique and pleasant. Complimentary tea and coffee were served at 7 to 10, but our departure was at 5 a.m., so we never had been able to enjoy it. The valet parking was not available at check-in, meaning we needed to find our way around things ourselves. The view was mainly street and buildings. China Town is really just a couple of blocks away. The rooms have very thin walls. We could gear every word what our next-door neighbor talked about. No microwave or coffee & tea options are in the rooms. But when you are on the go, you don't really care.
