A lovely hotel with amazing facilities. The spa is lovely when the weather is not so good and the pool area is a quiet, relaxing area with lots of beds and umbrellas available. We booked bed and breakfast but ate at the hotel buffet for our evening meal several times - you can get a discount the more days you pay to eat here. The food was amazing - so much choice. Location is great and you can walk into the centre in about 25 minutes. Hotel staff were all very friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean but do need updating. On arrival our fridge didn’t work and the bed sheets were marked however staff rectified these problems very quickly. Good range of daytime and evening entertainment activities available if you want to take part. Would definitely recommended this hotel as a great stay for a city break or relaxing summer holiday. 🌴

Excellent service by the staff. Friendly welcome. Buffet food good but a bit repetitive if staying longer than a few days. Roof top jacuzzi cold. Indoor pool, sauna and steam room nice. Spa only open mon-sat and books up fast so book before you go.
Would definitely return.

Spent a lovely week at the Madeira Gardens Hotel. Very pleasant stay. The room had a lovely sea view, the pool was beautiful. There was also an indoor pool, gym and sauna.
We paid for half board and the buffet dinner and breakfast were very good value for money. We walked into Funchal several times taking about 30 mins to stroll in.
The staff were all very helpful and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

We have enjoyed our two week stay here. The pool area is great with very comfortable sunbeds to relax. The rooftop has great views and we enjoyed watching the fireworks on NYE.
Breakfast was good with a variety of choice. A big mention to Smail ( breakfast staff) who greeted us everyday with a huge smile and was so friendly. He went above and beyond.
The air conditioning could be better.. but overall a good experience.

A fantastic hotel that exceed our expectations! From the minute we we landed, we knew it was special! Our luggage was collected and delivered to the hotel, so we didn't have the hassle of wheeling our cases to a coach, and sure enough, they were there upon arrival. Walking into the hotel, we were handed either a glass of fresh orange juice or fizzy wine, a nice welcoming touch. Passport's are taken, and you are checked in whilst the TUI reps welcome you, so no queuing! After a short talk inviting you to a tour of the hotel and grounds, you are given your passport's back and room cards.
The rooms, of which we opted for a sea view with Juliet balcony, are lovely. Nice and spacious and immaculately clean. There's tea, coffee and still water available. The safes are free to use, too.
We opted for the half board option and were so glad we did! Dinner was amazing. So much choice and had something for everyone! The restaurant staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast, the following morning was as fantastic as the dinner, so much choice and all freshly prepared.
Drinks are reasonably priced for a 4-star hotel, with various Happy hours throughout the evening that offer 30% off full priced drinks. My only gripe throughout the whole holiday was that the OH and I bought some drinks in the piano lounge and took them through to the restaurant, as we'd bot finished them, to be told that you're not allowed to do that and could we refrain from doing so again. We agreed, obviously, but surely it's all the same place and the coffers are all going to the same place???
Facilities at this hotel are brilliant. There's an outdoor pool, which was still a little too cold, but others did go in, an indoor pool, which we used and was lush! Like a bath! There's a rooftop jacuzzi, sun terrace, and gym (we used it and it has some great equipment in it too!) There's a sports/ game area which was fun! Beautiful gardens, including a sunken garden, which was where they held yoga classes, etc. There's a wide range of activities throughout the day to suit everyone, including quizzes, games, and dancing.
If you book on the half board option, you're entitled to a meal in the other restaurant, it's name escapes me. Make sure you DO book for that, as it was wonderful! A nice break from the buffet area. A four course meal cooked with care and passion and all for free too!
We loved this adults only hotel so much, that we've booked again for next year, already! It is a little way out and requires walking up/down some hills, but then again, it is Madeira, so nowhere is going to be flat! It is well worth a visit to this place as it is beyond special indeed!
See you all in 2025! X
