The staff at this hotel are really amazing, as others have noted. Five stars for the staff. The location was also very convenient for the beach and other restaurants and such in the area. The breakfast had a ton of options obviously meant to cater to various tastes/cultures and it was all really good.
The rooms themselves felt... old. We did pay for a sea-view room and the view was great. But they just felt pretty shabby for a four-star hotel from an aesthetics perspective. Comfy enough, though. The elevators were a little scary sometimes and we avoided them as much as possible which was tricky because you technically had to take two separate elevators to get to our room.
As a funny side note, they (wrongly) assumed we were there on our honeymoon and we arrived to a masterfully crafted towel art sculpture of two swans kissing, surrounded by rose petals and leaves spelling out "Happy Honeymoon." If it had been our honeymoon, we'd have been delighted. As it was, we were still delighted.
Overall, we had a comfy stay but I wouldn't necessarily call it a particularly romantic or exciting hotel/room.

I cannot wait to stay here again, no complaints whatsoever, staff at reception were so welcoming, polite and friendly. Thai hospitality at its best. We got a free room upgrade as it was our first stay with Chanalai. Beautiful and spacious room with a big balcony. All amenities provided and more, big bathroom and shower, water temperature and pressure was very good. The view was facing the ocean and although the buildings were blocking the water, we could still see the beautiful sunset every evening. We stayed here for a week! Breakfast was great, there are 2 swimming pools, a gym, an AC waiting room for checkin and pick ups. They give you a cold towel and ice-cream upon check-in. It's a 3 min walk to Kata Beach and some of the best food in the area, restaurants and hawker food available within a 2 to 5 min walk. Thank you for an amazing stay.

I actually visited the place in June 2022 and was undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've been to, hence I can't believe I never wrote a review.
The 2 pools were beautiful, from the hotel you could see the big buddha on the mountain top.
We had a pool view room on the ground floor with direct pool entrance. We also had a small back area outside the room too to chill.
The price was amazing considering how beautiful the resort was, the room was spacious and the outstanding view.
We even ate at their restaurant and the Pizza and the Pad Thai were also absolutely amazing!
It was in a quiet area and only 2mins from Kata beach's food market, even has an Indian restaurant just outside the resort.
The also have a kids playing area and a gym.

Comfortable bed, clean and lovely shower. The staff was always nice. The 2 pools were nice and the food was pretty good as well. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a very good budget resort. But, if you're looking for luxury this isn't for you. Good location by the beach and eating options

Stayed here for 3 days. I enjoyed the stay here! The hotel's massive, with 2 giant swimming pools. Food options are amazing but only for breakfast. The lack of vegetarian options during lunch and dinner were so less that we had to eat elsewhere. Rooms were good, albeit quite small. Walking to the room took quite some time, with lots of stairs. Overall I rate it 4/5.
