Best hotel in San Francisco. The Beacon Grand was the perfect place to stay for my family and me. It's in a central and safe location near lots of great shops. and restaurants. The Powell St. trolley stops right in front, which was convenient as well as charming. The rooms were gorgeous. Big windows to let in lots of sunlight when we wanted it, and very effective blackout shades to keep things dark when we wanted to sleep in. Everything was so crisp and clean and new. The staff was wonderful too. I have a chronic knee injury that flared up while there. The guest relations manager saw me limping around and got me in to see a doctor just one block away who even took my insurance. Within just two hours I had a knee brace and a prescription that let me continue enjoying my vacation. Everything at the Beacon Grand was excellent and I look forward to staying again next time I'm back in San Francisco!

Right in the thick of it, The Beacon is a historic building in SF that is absolutely worth the visit. The amenities are modern, the feeling is nostalgic. Comfortable beds and easy accessibility. The lobby is quiet and the couches are plush. The highlight of the experience was the top level bar. A very interesting spread of drinks and an icecream sundae that made the whole day. The volume is excessive in the bar though.

Located in Union square so easy transport access. Although the king room did not feel king at all, yes the bed is massive but you have little space to put anything in the room.
Also, the bathroom door when closed can still be seen through the gap which was weirdly annoying when my friends came over. 1 star knocked off just for that - yes.
Super weak shower.
Building decor was impressive. The spring water I was indeed grateful for after having experienced good water for the first time in my California road trip.

Overall hotel is not the best but not the worst. Small and odd. Not enough front desk help. However, the one person we enjoyed interacting with was Nicholas from the front desk. He was VERY helpful, understanding and apologetic as we were not pleased with our previous service with a different front desk gentleman. Nicholas took the time to help us out and was very patient even with a line forming behind us.

From the minute my Uber dropped me off at the curb I was greeted by a bellman who took my luggage up the grand entrance to the lobby. I arrived much earlier than the check in time (I got in at 10am but check in wasn't until 4pm). I was greeted by a very kind gentleman at the front desk who promptly checked me in to a room with a corner view of Powell Street. I could see the trolley cars go up and down Powell throughout the day from my room. The room was somewhat small but cozy for 1-2 ppl. I was traveling alone so it didn't bother me. My room was services daily. My one gripe was house keeping kept turning off my AC when they would service the room. And I would come back from my adventures to a very warm room. The bed was very comfortable and surprisingly, so were the pillows. The shower was somewhat odd as it only had half a pane of glass, with half of the shower open to the elements. I found it difficult to keep the water from splashing onto the floor. The staff offered 2 complimentary full size waters everyday and provided extras if needed. I very much enjoyed the high tea service they offer in their restaurant/bar area. The owner hooked me up and gave me two different pots of tea to try and two different champagnes. I would absolutely stay here again when I visit San Fran! Highly recommend!
