Stayed here during Christmas with my family of 7. The exceptional level of attentiveness from the staff truly stood out. Every member, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, was dedicated to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. A special mention goes to Manager Vanessa, whose commitment to going above and beyond left a lasting impression. Vanessa not only addressed our needs promptly but also took the initiative to make certain that every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations.
The bartenders at the hotel deserve applause for their exceptional service. The combination of attentive service and the warm, welcoming demeanor of the staff made the overall experience truly memorable.
The hotel's commitment to cleanliness was evident throughout the grounds. From the lobby to the outdoor spaces, everything was immaculate. The well-maintained surroundings enhanced the overall ambiance and contributed to a sense of relaxation. Moreover, the rooms were not only clean but also elegantly appointed, providing a comfortable and inviting retreat after a day of exploration. I really do not understand all of these fantastic reviews, unless they are all people who paid for Diamond Club.
I hold meetings for a living. My clients requested to meet on a beautiful Caribbean island. Did some looking around and we decided to go to Antigua. We have had meetings on other island and pretty much knew what to expect.
From the time the clients started to book their rooms I knew this was going to be a problem.
Let me start by saying that the people who work at the Royalton, for the most part, are all very nice, friendly and accommodating. My negative comments are the overall lack of management direction of the people. Communication is non existent. Follow-up? What's that?!
The whole diamond club nonsense just makes half of the people, second class. I brought over 30 people there with their families, they stayed an average of 5 nights. So, 150 room nights at not an inexpensive place by any stretch and you cant book a restaurant, because not everyone in my group opted for the Diamond nonsense.
Oh, and acknowledgment of Bonvoy status? NONE.
Nice place, nice beach, nice people, horrible management.
Do not go there with a group.
Waited hours for my room. Then it was wrong. Still waiting for a copy of my hotel bill and the copies of the charges for events weeks after. Emails, phone calls, none returned.
Needed a projector screen as stated in the contract. Nope. None on the island was the answer! Nonsense.

Honest family review. This is a five star location, the beach and bay are beautiful but it’s not worth the money. If you’re not diamond club you’ll have trouble eating at the main restaurants until 8:30pm. The restaurants open at 6:00pm, we were not diamond club so made sure to arrive as it opened and were still turned away. The rooms are small and basic. We had to ask for a cot as the pull out was not big enough for our kids. Areas of the resort are unkept. Seaweed washed onto the beach and wasn’t cleared the entire week we stayed. Don’t recommend coming here.

TLDR: The resort location is great, Diamond Club is essential, and the butlers make the experience.
We had a great welcome experience with pickup from the taxi drop off with a full tour of the resort including pulling up to the beach. We arrived a little early so our room wasn’t ready but the staff in the diamond club lounge was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable in the mean time.
We were then introduced to our butlers Paul and Shandell, both who I must say really made our stay worry free and were attentive to any of our requests. We were shown to our room which was decorated with flowers on the bed, congratulatory champagne and some more flowers on the counter. A nice touch for our honeymoon.
We booked the “Luxury Swim Out Diamond, All-Inclusive, Club lounge access, Junior Suite” through the Marriott Website and were not disappointed. We had the first room on the west side of the hotel with extra privacy with only one room next to us and bushes blocking the other side of the pool.
Many reviews talk about long wait times at the restaurants, pool side, and for room service. We didn’t experience that but I would attribute a lot of it to the diamond club experience. Our dinners were booked with our butler so we never had to wait in line to enter the restaurant. Our meals also never took longer than 15 mins to come out, but temper that with how early your server took your order. We always booked around 6-7pm before many big parties came in. This also gave us time if we were still hungry to pop in to the buffet or score later in the night. I read other reviews complaining about bugs but remember that this is in the Caribbean and most areas are open air so you’ll get bugs no matter where you go if you’re outdoors. It never bothered us as I’ve seen worse in New York City.
Pool side by the beach diamond club has two bars you can go to for drinks while the general rooms only have the swim up bar. You also have attendants at the beach on the diamond club side that will check in if you need any drinks.
We brought our own 20oz Stanley tumblers which helped the drinks stay cool and felt more sanitary than the way they were cleaning the cups. Bartenders were more than happy to fill our tumblers and they were always filled to the brim.
Room Service could be hit or miss based on when you order. They have a change of shift at 11pm, so if you’re ordering around then you may have a longer wait time. We had most of our orders delivered within 20minutes.
Our butlers Paul and Shandell checked in on us multiple times daily wherever we were, whether it be at the beach, at a restaurant, or at our room. They brought us snacks, dessert, made sure we always had drinks and were having a great time. We chose a bottle of Bacardi as our complimentary weekly bottle which was delivered to our room the night of our arrival as well. Paul and Shandell ensured we had the right reservations and also set up the taxi for our departure.
Overall a wonderful experience for our Honeymoon and would recommend this resort to anyone as long as you get the diamond club.

My partner and I stayed here for our 8 year anniversary and had an absolutely beautiful experience. Our room was clean & beautiful and our mini bar was always well stocked. We adored our swim out pool! The resort itself was absolutely gorgeous - a little bit outdated but overall very clean and beautiful :) The service from everyone was great - all staff were kind, helpful, engaging and friendly! It is a family friendly resort and we don’t have children but thought it seemed like a great place for families! The location of the resort is wonderful too! The bay is beautiful, don’t forget to hike up to the fort at the end of the beach and explore the hills & neighbouring beach & tide pools! The hike up itself is quick and only a little steep :) not too bad at all !
The restaurants had wonderful food and even if one was on a waitlist we had no problem finding a seat elsewhere. We especially loved the Caribbean grill & the Italian Diamond Club breakfast (this breakfast spot itself makes up for the price of diamond club, we did get a good deal through our travel agent). The diamond club lounge was always well stocked with liquor and delicious snacks, a nice stop throughout the day!
The beach bar was very very fun and we enjoyed how engaging and fun the Vibe team is! Shoutout to Shomuye, he made sure everyone had a blast and was very outgoing ! The beach club grill was also really yummy !
Our butler Matara was so so so kind and helpful and checked on us multiple times a day!! She made sure that our anniversary was memorable and was very proactive in making sure we had our reso’s planned out throughout the week for any special dinners :) Matara is really great at what she does, thank you again !!
Overall we are happy we chose the Royalton and would love to return one day & see what the resorts elsewhere have to offer! Thank you for a beautiful experience
