Enjoyed our experience at Hilton Playa del Carmen. Most things and activities are included with a few understandable exceptions like spas, cabanas closest to the main swimming pool, and some drinks.
Everyone at the resort was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. My spouse is allergic to gluten and the restaurants were extremely knowledgeable about gluten free options. The beach is beautiful and the activities are diverse and enjoyable. The resort is close to Quinta Avenida (busy area filled with souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, and more) and ferries so you can go anywhere very quickly.
We definitely recommend it and will be back again!

I’ve had a lot of back and forth, love and hate with Hilton properties. But the experience at Hilton Playa del Carmen ensured I’d never return to one of their properties.
For my final night at the property, I decided to upgrade to the Presidential suite. Unfortunately, I made the decision to stop at the on-site coffee shop called Aroma to grab a small sandwich. A few hours later, I had terrible food poisoning. I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do and that I should go to a pharmacy. That was kinda hard considering I was stuck in bed.
My last day and night were spent in bed, not enjoying the suite I upgraded to. The next day when I brought it up to management, they repeated the mantra, “there’s nothing we can do.”
How about making sure your food is safe for people to eat?
How about refunding me the difference between my original Master suite and the Presidential suite?
How about a discount, points, etc.? Something for the fact that I just spent money to upgrade to a suite I couldn’t use because your food made me ill.
The one good thing about my visit was Luis, the private butler. He was always very helpful but he had left the property at 5 pm, before the food poisoning hit.
Overall, this is just another event in a series of unfortunate customer service issues with Hilton. Even my feedback survey was met with silence.
I’ve since cancelled my Hilton business credit card and will be going to Hyatt from now on.

I feel like you had to still pay for a lot of things that other all inclusive resorts already include in the price. The pool chairs were my biggest complaint. I could not sit around the pool unless I bought a cabana which was over $100 per day. The free chairs were far from the pool.
The food was okay. Room service was hit or miss.
The elevators were down so we had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get to our room each time.
I had to call 3 times in 24 hours to get my room cleaned. Each time they said they were coming right away, and we would come back and the room still wasn’t cleaned.
The building itself is beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous. The staff are friendly. There was a quiet pool that was away from the large, busy pool, which we loved. I just don’t know that I would come back to this one due to the money you pay out of pocket for things that should be included and the food/housekeeping service being hit or miss.

Fantastic resort! Disney level service with semi- fine dining food! resort's a little older and weathered but it just adds to the charm. Only downside is one that cannot be helped- the rocky seaweed ridden beach. Yes there are available upgrades for purchase but do you really expect an all inclusive to just throw out a tomahawk t-bone on the buffet or a fancy old fashioned in a smoke filled glass box for everyone? at least it's being offered should you decide to splurge.

We stayed in a two beds junior suite with garden view. The room comes with a big jacuzzi tub!
There are many different varieties of food options to choose from- Mexican, Mediterranean, seafood, Asian, Buffet, and even 24 hours Room Service if you’re hungry at night!
There’s also many events throughout the day.
Check them out in your first day of arrival so you can plan out your schedule, or simply just relax on the benches next to the pool or the beach.
The location is also impeccable. It’s right on the action of Playa Del Carmen with gift shops, pharmacies, clubs, massage spa, etc.
Would definitely come back in the future.
